Summary: A verse by verse examination of what the book of Ephesians in the Bible teaches. This message covers Part 1 of Ephesians 4:15-32  discussion of Christian behavior.

Bible References:

Ephesians 4:15-24 ( KJV ) 15But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:  16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. 17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,  18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:  19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.  20But ye have not so learned Christ;  21If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:  22That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;  23And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;  24And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Galatians 5:17-26 ( KJV ) 17For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.  18But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.  19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,  20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,  21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.  22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,  23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.  24And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.  25If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.  26Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

1 Corinthians 2:8-16 ( KJV ) 8Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  9But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.  10But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.  11For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.  12Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.  13Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  14But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.  15But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.  16For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 ( KJV ) 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;  2Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
