On the Tree

By Pamela Rose Williams

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.” (1 Peter 2:24)

Just to think that God gave His only begotten Son to us and then allowed Him to hang on the tree because of our sins is mind boggling.  Jesus had no sin and took our sins upon Himself and died on that tree so we can be dead to sins.  Such allegory, such paradox!

We have a sin debt that we can not pay; Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe.  Praise God for His mercy and grace today, don’t take it for granted.  Tell everyone!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
