It was a beautiful time in St. Paul Minnesota. Well, the weather was a little cold, but it was bright and shiny inside and out. Â You see we were celebrating a new member of the family. Â Our sweet little Tenley Rose was born on Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Â She and her mommy did great … they were both happy and healthy. Â I love my new grand daughter, she is precious and I especially like her name.
Although the name Tenley holds no great significance in the family, her middle name does. The name Rose has been a favorite in my family for many years. Â My daughter has named her daughter with this special middle name to honor my mom, her own mom (that’s me) and her sister. Take a look at how the name Rose has continued to be a tradition in our family.
- It began with Rose — my Grandmother (mom to my mom); my daughter’s great grandmother
- Rose Rita — that’s my mom; my daughter’s grandmother
- Pamela Rose — that’s me; my daughter’s mom
- Andrea Rose — that’s my niece; my sister’s daughter; my daughter’s cousin
-
Arlee Rose — that’s my niece; another one of my sisters’ daughter; another one of my daughter’s cousins
-
Hollie Rose — that’s my daughter; sister to my daughter; the cousin to Andrea Rose and Arlee Rose, and the Auntie to Miss Tenley Rose
-
Hailey Rose — that’s my great niece; Andrea Rose’s sister’s daughter and Andrea Rose’s niece, and a cousin once removed to my daughter
-
Tenley Rose — that’s my daughter’s daughter; my other daughter’s niece, and my granddaughter
Isn’t that wonderful? Â So what’s in a name? Â The Bible says:
“A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver or gold” (Proverbs 22:1)
I’m glad and honored that Eric and Candi chose ROSE as Tenley’s middle name … that’s a GOOD name!
