Even So, LORD Jesus, Come

By Marjorie A. Younce

How wonderful our eternal salvation is! What blessings it gives! We can endure the loss of a dearly beloved! In response, we sing, compose and play beautiful music, and write what He gives us to “think on” and comfort our souls. The World has nothing to compare.

EVEN SO, LORD JESUS, COME…

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 the Lord explains the order of events that make up the Rapture, that wonderful split second of time when God calls all believers that make up “the Body of Christ, the “Bride of Christ,” and “the Church,” to their eternal home in Heaven. He ends this passage of Scripture with Verses 17, and 18.

“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (18). We are to use these words, and others, to comfort those whose loved ones have preceded them to Heaven. Our God gave us these words of comfort to assure us that we will see our loved ones, who are believers, again. They are not gone forever! It is “Just ‘So long’ for a little while.”

Dear Friends, with the world situation worsening each, and every day, Jesus says in Revelation 22:12 “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” The soul-cry of most believers is that they feel they have had about “as much as we can take”, Lord, and the Rapture can’t happen soon enough for us. But our Omnipotent God knows when, how much, and how long.

Remember, believers who love the Lord’s appearing have a special reward “laid up” for them.

” Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:8).

We believers also must think about the fact that Christ is coming for us as our gracious Savior. But, to non-believers, He is coming as the “righteous judge.” And…if they die without trusting Christ as their Savior, it will be eternity in the Lake of Fire for them.

Jesus said it, over and over again. He was coming back! “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” (John 14:3 )

EVEN SO, LORD JESUS, COME…

Can’t you hear it? I can!
It’s the silence anticipation brings.
All God’s Creation holding its breath.
Someone’s waiting in the wings.

Not a leaf turns on a forest tree.
Nowhere can be seen a motion.
Lakes and streams are clear as glass.
There’s not a wave upon the ocean.

There’s nothing left to be fulfilled.
All eyes search the Eastern Sky.
When that last soul fills Christ’s body,
Saints, our Redemption draweth nigh.

The Lord Himself shall then descend,
His mighty shout heard everywhere!
Then the Saints shall together rise
To meet our Savior in the air.

God’s trump leads the Angelic Host.
Our convoy to Heaven is in their care;
We must pass through Satan’s domain.
He’s the Prince of the Power of the Air.

All will wonder where we’ve gone.
Soon the Antichrist will appear.
All the answers he will seem to have.
Men will believe each lie they hear!

Soon he’ll wield total world control.
Without his mark, none can buy or sell.
If you take it, you are doomed,
Dead men walking” straight to Hell!

“What’s our job while we wait?
Don’t let another precious day go by.
Spread the gospel far and wide.
Don’t waste time staring at the sky.

Our Lord will come at the time appointed.
He knows the day, the hour, the minute.
Until He comes we must redeem the time,
In each day, each hour, each second in it!

We all have loved ones we must tell
That Jesus is the Truth, the Life, the Way.
If they accept his payment for their sin,
They too will be caught up on that day.

But God understands we do get weary.
And yearn to see those already called Home.
The last prayer found in God’s Word,
Our hope, “Even so, Lord Jesus, Come.”

“And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.” – Revelation 22:10
