From the Inside Out

By Pamela Rose Williams

Romans 14:8 For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s.

A popular song, written by Joel Houston, front man for the world renowned Hillsong United, is “From the inside out”. It speaks of how much we desire to love the Lord. It speaks of the depths of love that truly as humans we fall so short of ever doing.

Let’s take a listen to this song (and sing along if you like) and then see how it lines up with Scripture. I hope you are blessed by today’s verses and song.

The Song in Scripture

As I listen to the lyrics to this lovely worship song I am reminded of the following Scriptures:

“A thousand times I’ve failed, Still Your mercy remains”

Lamentations 3:21-23 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

“And should I stumble again, Still I’m caught in Your grace

Psalm 37:24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.

2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

“Your light will shine when all else fades, Never-ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame”

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

Psalm 104:31 The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.

1 Timothy 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 22:5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

“In my heart in my soul, Lord I give You control, Consume me from the inside out Lord”

1 Corinthians 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

1 Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men
